Fences – Phoenix (The Soft Pack Remix)
The Soft Pack’s remix of Phoenix’s sublime Fences is like the Father Ted episode with the dented car. By the time they’ve finished with the song it is a battered, bruised and almost totally unrecognisable beast. But it’s also brilliant. A slack mouthed, lazy stroll around the ruins of the original song. Someone send this to Julian Casablancas marked – “FYI: the next Strokes album”.
