Prediction – Labour will attack Marr's private life after he questioned Brown about pills on Sunday
Andrew Marr didn’t really have great grounds for raising Guido Fawkes’ suggestions that Gordon Brown was/has been/is relying on prescription pills. Previously he had been Gordon Brown’s preferred TV interviewer, now the gloves will be off.
And Marr has skeletons in his closet – the story of child he fathered with Times columnist Alice Miles while still married to his wife Jackie Ashley will pop up in print a few times this week I suspect. Alasdair Campbell has already dropped hints on his blog:
“I know it will give him the passing satisfaction of pats on the back from journos … But it was low stuff. I’m sure Andrew would agree that everyone has certain areas of their life that they’d prefer not to be asked about live on TV.”
While Campbell is not directing Labour’s press offensive anymore, you can be certain that he’s advising Brown.
